When it comes to setting a table, we like to have fun and use our creativity without too many rules. We think that a beautifully set table is the canvas for a delicious meal. That being said we’re going to share a few basic rules and advices on how to set the perfect table whether is a formal or a basic event.
1.Utensils: utensils are placed in the order in which they are used with the first ones placed on the outside
2.Forks: place it on the left side of the main service plate. But for desserts the fork can be placed above the plate.
3.Knives: place it always on the right side of the plate, with the cutting blade facing inwards towards the plate. The exception is the butter knife which is placed on the butter plate.
4.Spoons: are typically placed on the right side of the plate. The dessert spoon is placed directly above the service plate just like the fork.
5.Placement: all utensils should be placed about an inch from the edge of the table and lined up evenly from the bottom ends.
6.Decor: this is the best part of the table setting. Create a beautiful flower center piece, place candles on the table, choose a fun napkin holder, the options are endless!
Keep in mind that it’s important to set only the utensils that will be used, that way you can have a clean and clear table with plenty space to put the food on.
